Now Hiring: Business and Development Manager
Sound Bight Media is looking for a highly motivated and independent Business and Development Manager to help grow our portfolio of media properties across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Substack. The primary goal of this position is to ensure we have a diverse set of income streams to ensure that the company isn’t reliant on a single source. This means sourcing new revenue streams and growing current ones.
The right person for the position will have extensive experience in growing a business, particularly around the entertainment, media or marketing industries. This includes invoicing, paying invoices, and other administrative tasks. Additional experience in social media platforms, particularly YouTube and Substack, will be key to success in this role.
Additionally, this position will support the company as a whole as needed. We’re a small company and everyone wears all hats. This means helping to upload videos, provide support for the production of videos, social media, or materials for an article.
This position is based in Portland, Oregon and the person hired for this position MUST be located within the Portland metropolitan area.
At present, this is a remote position, however, the company has plans to establish an office in Portland, Oregon. At that point, this will be a hybrid-position with requirements around coming into the office. We’re in the business of making creative projects and that requires in-person collaboration. If you don’t want to work in an office or can’t come into and work in an office, please do not apply.

Additionally, this position will be tasked with developing growth strategies and plans for launching new channels, identifying grant opportunities, and ensuring we can always pay our bills.
Business Management (30%) - Manage the business needs at large including building out an overall budget (with Geoff) and ensuring accurate tracking of budgets for each channel and video as they come out. This position will also oversee the efficiency of the business as it relates to processes and tools and what can be done to ensure the business is operating as seamlessly as possible.
Administrative Assistance (10%) - Handle all invoicing as it relates to the business including incoming invoices and outgoing payments. Participate in and coordinate meetings within the company.
